THE WEEDS IN OUR OWN BACKYARDS tells a mostly true multi-layered love story that focuses on what might seem like a small moment in one individual's life. One afternoon. A few hours. A routine task that proves more challenging than expected. An arc of thought that leads to changes in the character's relationship with the world in important ways. He struggles with how to express his love for his father. How to rescue his love for a child from a crumbling relationship. How to keep hopes alive for a new love relationship. How to love himself and others in a noisy modern world that seems to promote fear and chaos instead of trust and love for each other. Tackling the task at hand without distraction winds up helping him see a path to love on each front.
