I am the director of Lancaster Park, and came up with the original story concept. I have worked with the screenplay writer John Craine on several other projects. This particular section It is a story about motherhood, and what lengths a mother will go to in order to protect her child. It's about how in a single parent household the bond between parent and child has a completely different dynamic to a traditional two parent household. It's about the guilt caused by doubting your child. It's about loving them but not liking who they might have become. The concept for the full length version is to tell the story of the murder of an unknown man from the perspectives of various trailer park residents, and how these stories interweave. I will examine how their preconceptions and opinions form and affect their relationships within the community. I am a single parent of a daughter who is now 28. (She prop Mastered the film) So these themes were really was an area I could speak to, and work through with my actors. I was lucky enough to be able to call on some very experienced crew and additionally be in the position to give some new rising stars a chance to gain key credits. My crew was over 50% female, and I re-wrote several supporting roles to be women and women of color.
