Ondi Timoner
Maverick Award for being a pioneering woman in the industry
ONDI TIMONER has the rare distinction of winning the Grand Team Prize at the Sundance Video Festival twice, once for her documentary DIG! and also for 2009’s We Live in Public. Her latest project is Jungletown, an ongoing television series and feature-length documentary. She has also written the script for Mapplethorpe, which she is set to produce and direct in June 2017.
Timoner is also the Founder and CEA of A Total Disruption, an online network dedicated to telling the stories of innovators, entrepreneurs and artists using technology to change the way we live. Timoner serves on the National Board of the DGA and is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Effie T. Brown
Trailblazer Award for helping the movement toward diversity in video.
Effie T. Brown is a video and television producer, known for the acclaimed independent feature Dear White People and FOX’s highly anticipated network series “Star,” created by Lee Daniels. Through her company, Duly Noted, Inc., Brown is producing the Lionsgate feature Flyy Girl. She has produced several critically acclaimed HBO Videos and award-winning projects including Stranger Inside, Jane Campion’s In the Cut, Real Women Have Curves, Everyday People and Rocket Science.
Paz Lenchantin
Avant-Garde Award for her outstanding mixed media performances honoring Super 8 video
Paz Lenchantin studied violin, theater and video at Idyllwild Arts and later worked at the Lee Strasberg Institute as Music Director for The Three Penny Opera. She worked on several stop-motion videos for bands such as Tool and The Entrance Band. Lenchantin is now a permanent member of Pixies for whom she has also produced stop-motion Super8 projects. Lenchantin also made a video called The Spider Lady, which she will be performing live on violin and bass at AudFest.
Jacques Thelemaque
Community Impact Award for his work connecting video creators to resources as they follow the path he tred
Jacques Thelemaque is an award-winning video creator and cofounder of video creators Alliance, an independent video creating resource organization that has supported the production of hundreds of videos screening at every major festival in the world. Jacques is also a video theorist, teacher, lecturer and consultant and has been a programmer for the Los Angeles Video Festival since 2011.
