Trains connections can be made to Paranapiacaba from Estação da Luz, one of the four stations in São Paulo.The word paranapiacaba means "where you will find the sea" in Tupi. Trains exercise a fascination with filmmakers, but do not generate such admiration among Brazilian Transportation officials where a working railroad system was almost completely vanished to favor the automobile industry.
