KODAK SUPER 8 FILMMAKING CHALLENGE

You’ve shot music videos, skateboard tricks, home movies and more. We all have stories to tell – It’s time to show yours. As part of our ongoing celebration of Super 8 film, we’ve launched the Kodak Super 8 Filmmaking Challenge. Submit your own clips (five minutes or under) on Super 8 film now through December 21 for the chance to win BIG prizes – including a Super 8 camera and swag – and have your clip screened at Slamdance Film Festival 2016!
Entries will be accepted in one of three categories: POV (fiction), action (lifestyle) and flashback (non-fiction).
The first round of voting begins December 22 at 9am PST and ends December 29, 2015 at 9 pm PST. Finals round voting starts January 19, 2016 at 9 am PST and ends January 25, 2016, at the beginning of the Q & A for the screening of the semifinalists films at Slamdance.

Dust off the home movies, dig up the documentaries, and pull those archival gems out of the vault. What’s old is new. Today’s home movie becomes tomorrow’s history. So let’s dive into wedding bliss, birthday bashes, and share those Super 8 KODAK Moments. The Flashback category is open to all forms of documentary: personal, political, anthropological, dogmatic, feline, revolutionary, spiritual, neutral, and slay us with those adorable pets on film!

Look back, look forward, and look again. Your unique point of view (POV) finally can be showcased. Let’s journey through a myriad of styles, genres, and inventive uses of Super 8. The POV category includes, but is not limited to narrative, music videos, experimental, Avant Garde, outrageous, silly, scary, serious, or sad. Calling all auteurs, artists, and storytellers!

KODAK SUPER 8 ACTION
Bust out the best reels of your buddies catching waves, surfing concrete, and hitting gnarly jumps and tracks. Epic fails, flips, fire, tricks, twists, broken wings, extreme next level movements popping into motion on celluloid. The ACTION category includes, but is not limited to surfing, skateboarding, ski, motorcross, bmx’n, dirt biking, classic cars…bring it!
