Official video for "The Sessions Voices - Blackbird", from the album "The Sessions Voices" (2011).The song is a cover of the renowned original by The Beatles. This version was inspired by the African American struggle for equal rights in the Southern United States in the 1960's. "The Sessions Voices" is one of the best vocal ensembles in Italy. Their repertoire explores American folk, blues, and gospel music, and focuses on those tunes that accompanied activists of the Civil Rights Movement in their march for equality. The video was realized by combining original super 8mm footage and documentaries from the national archive. It is a heartfelt homage to the Civil Rights Movement and to the 1963 March on Washington.
