'The Right Shoes' is 4th in a series of short films entitled 'The Red Bucket'. All four films are linked only by the presence of a red bucket, however, 'The Right Shoes' is the only one that promotes a powerful message, one of gender equality. As the parent of a 12 year old girl, I see how pre adolescent confidence is equally bold and fragile and is something to be protected and nurtured. Women and girls often face gender-based discrimination that puts them at increased risk of poverty, violence, ill health and a poor education. Gender inequality is a global concern and finding solutions needs to be embraced by leaders of industry. If we strive to give our daughters the right tools, there is every hope they will succeed.
