Kanami is a New York City-based street performer better known as Let Hair Down, who started performing at Washington Square Park at the height of the pandemic. Street of Sound is a video-documentary p. . . project that aims to highlight buskers and emerging artists who share their talent with passersby in public space daily, the ultimate act of kindness that is accessible to all.
We firmly believe in the power of art and music being shared in public space as a cornerstone of any community, and, in this video, Kanami shares with us how she has received acts of kindness back from the community, in the form of words, donations, and human connection and warmth.
