I am from The Bahamas and I always noticed Bahamians' reliance on conch as a part of our culture. After difficult conversations with my family members about the decline in conch populations, I analyzed what could be causing this conch decline. How would Bahamians survive if we lost our conch? From interviews with local fisherman and conch vendors, I urge many young Bahamians and other activists to begin talking about conch conservation and to use their voices to create change.
