Background
VIM & VIGR compression legwear has been worn & loved by nurses for years. Every spring, we devote time and space to highlight these heroes around Nurses Week in May. This spring, we're launching a special sock that features the words Hope & Heart on the bottom. We'll also be doing a Buy a Sock, Give a Sock campaign —for every purchase on our website, a pair of socks will be donated to healthcare workers. And for the first time ever, we're offering a VIM & VIGR Nursing Scholarship to support future nurses as they pursue their education.
Call to Action
VIM & VIGR invites you to pitch a 30-second social media video that showcases the inspiring spirit and determination of nurses. You have until April 9 to submit your pitch and until May 1 to turn in your video if you are selected. Up to 3 pitches will be greenlit and receive VIM & VIGR product to make your video + paid $300 each. If selected your video will be due May 1.
Help us showcase the bravery and heart of nurses! Every day these heroes gear up for the job — preparing for a day as a nurse can involve getting dressed in scrubs & compression socks, putting on PPE, and setting their mindset to face the day ahead.
A nurse's work involves all sorts of pressure — to deliver the best possible care, manage patient and family expectations & emotions, navigate communication with providers and other staff, document everything, handle the physical demands of the job (lifting, standing for long hours, etc). In addition, they often carry an intense emotional burden — witnessing death and dying frequently, giving patients dignity in sickness & recovery, dealing with angry or difficult patients/family members, and during this year - often being the human lifeline for their patients when other visitors weren't allowed. They often work long shifts without adequate breaks and little recognition.
Their job requires bravery, tenacity, and grace in ways that few other jobs do. It's a daunting job to face each day, and yet, they continue to show up for it.
Your Gear Up & Go video pitch and video if you are selected should capture both the reality of how challenging a nurse's job is while honing in on the spirit that keeps them coming back. The video should be fast-paced and inspiring. It should cast nurses as heroes, who are tough but care deeply; who are overwhelmed but courageous. They get ready, then they face whatever the day holds. We envision showing a nurse preparing for the day, thinking ahead, taking a deep breath, and heading out the door or into the hospital.
To submit your pitch, you will:
1. Click submit and upload a reel or example of your work that best illustrates the power and quality of your work.
2. Answer the questions in the form.
Questions include your current city, state, pitch idea.
Also, you will be asked to paste a link to a video on your AudPop account about yourself and why you want this job (30 seconds or less).
3. You may upload supplemental info to go along with your pitch/application.
4. Click the "Submit to this Campaign" button.
Greenlit Video Submission Requirements
- Must be 30 seconds or less
- Must briefly show a VIM & VIGR product
In your video submission, you will draw the connection between the spirit of nurses and the spirit of the VIM & VIGR brand. Your video submission will need to:
1) Remind the average person of the perseverance, grit, and grace nurses exemplify
2) Resonate deeply with nurses - making them feel connected & confident in our VIM & VIGR brand

Nurses who wear compression socks or come across our brand. 25+, US-based, care about style and health
Other VIM & VIGR customers. 50+, majority women, US-based, care about style, have a health reason for compression

Prizes/How it Works
Pitches are juried by the VIM & VIGR team. Up to 3 pitches will be chosen. Each video maker will receive $300 to create their 30-second video.
Proposals are evaluated based on the following judging criteria:
- Creativity
- Technical Merit
- Fresh, Diverse Perspective
- Adherence to the Assignment
