FILMMAKERS: Submit your short film, 45 minutes or under, about music.

From rockumentary to a musical, if your short film demonstrates how powerful music is, how profound its effects can be on the world, this is the festival for you. Your short film can be a narrative or documentary, but no music videos (we have another festival for those!).

AUDIENCE AWARDS provides filmmakers with the opportunity to gain exposure & accelerate your careers. We are committed to providing a stage for diverse, emerging talent and your creative work. Our democratized platform celebrates the power of storytelling and provides you with the tools to build an audience. Films submitted to opportunities on our site are juried by industry professionals and the global audience. The top films win prizes and screen at festivals around the world. Created by filmmakers, for filmmakers, we live to give you a leg up.

HOW THIS FESTIVAL WORKS: Once you successfully upload and submit your film to this festival on our site, your film is reviewed by our festival screeners for admittance. You will receive notice if your film is accepted or rejected before voting opens.

On the voting open date, your film is juried by our preliminary jury panel and the global audience. From this first round, the top 3 films with the most votes and the top 5 preliminary jury-selected films advance to the finals round. If audience winners are preliminary jury selections, the prelim jury will select additional films so that there are always 8 finalist films. From the 8 films, the expert jury panel will select their top 5 films. These films are the finalists of this festival and receive an optional non-exclusive distribution deal.

2 things: 

1. Your film will be publicly viewed, so make sure it’s the right time for your film to gain an online audience. If it's too early for the public to watch your short film online, we invite you to come back next year and submit.

2. If you want your friends and family to vote for your film, share away. Audience voting greatly increases your views & exposure for your film and career, but social sharing is not necessary to win. The jury ultimately chooses the finalists and winners of the festival.
