About On Location Memphis
On Location: MEMPHIS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to use business opportunities to educate members of the film, music and arts community to create economic drivers for the purpose of stimulating economic growth within the creative community.
For seventeen (17) years On Location: MEMPHIS hosted the OL:M International Film and Music Festival. Beloved worldwide for its southern charm and Airstream Trailer Awards; the OL:M festival was noticeably missing from the indie film festival circuit. After 2 ½ years, OL:M is proud to present their latest offering to the film community: MemphisMusicBanq.com
The Memphis Music Banq is a pay-per-license website. The MMB offer to license music, from Tennessee music creators, to producers of TV, Film, Radio, YouTube, Corporate and other visual media content. This program and website was developed by On Location: MEMPHIS, to educate music creators on how to protect and prepare their content to generate income through licensing opportunities, as well as, provide visual media producers access to quality music, that is legally sound, and reasonably priced.
“The #1 question for most music creators is ‘How do I get my music placed in Film and TV?’ Then, on the flip side, filmmakers are asking, ‘How do I get music for my project that won’t break the budget or cause me legal concerns?’ The Memphis Music Banq answers both questions. This website was created to serve the needs of both communities,” said Angela D. Green, Esq, Executive Director of On Location: MEMPHIS.
To celebrate the website launch, and encourage Film and Music creators in the Mid-South to come together, the Memphis Music Banq will host the MMB Mixer Competitions on Sept. 17, Oct. 15 and Nov. 19, at the Memphis Slim House, 1130 College Street, Memphis, TN 38106, from 6PM-8PM. MMB Music Creators will be paired with local filmmakers to synch music to their clips for a chance to win CASH and music Licenses. Those filmmakers not in competition, but need music for their projects, may submit information to the announcement board. The filmmakers are asked to attend so they may be introduced to the music creators that evening. Information should be submitted to info@onlocationmemphis.org. This event is free and open to the public.
