"United by Water"

The 5 tribes of the Upper Columbia River unite on the water in traditional canoes for the first time since the Grand Coulee Dam flooded their traditional waterways 76 years ago.

This film is a contains archival footage from the last Salmon Ceremony in 1940 now known as the Ceremony of Tears. This was the last time the tribes of the upper Columbia River united on their traditional waterways at Kettle Falls.

In 2016 the tribes returned to their traditional waterways and traveled to Kettle Falls, Washington for the first time in 76 years. All by traditional handmade canoes.
