Pedestrian Wanderlust is a video portrait series of dancers improvising in public spaces. Aside of the trajectories that the dancers take from one point to another, all of the dance and camera movements are improvised. The project seeks to celebrate freedom of expression and a diversity of people and movement while showcasing the locations of each site-specific work. For this shoot, we shared an event on facebook inviting people to come dance at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park and had seven dancers show up. We had no idea who we would be working with until we arrived that day. All films are shot with a handheld iphone7. It is my goal for the viewer to feel like they are part of the dance.
