The degradation to the landscape and water table via this coal mine and the soon-to-be fracking industry is going to be such that it is doubtful there can ever be recovery. What a horrible shame, the short-sighted view has won out, with peoples homes being ruined and their country-side gutted. Big business is ruining the fabric of Southern Illinois. We should be promoting these beautiful counties in and around the National Shawnee Forest not letting these corporations rape this pristine place. Keep speaking out, Miss Judy!
