The Co-Motion Dance Project based out of the University of Montana produced and performs a 45 minute active audience performance Fire Speaks the Land to middle school students. The performance teaches the fire triangle; convection, conduction, and radiation; and how Native people used fire. Blackfeet Native leader Jack Gladstone eloquently narrates the sound score. Dancers demonstrate the role of fire in three forest communities in the Northern Rockies (ponderosa, lodgepole, whitebark pine).
