ALETULLE - Green Tunnel

'Green Tunnel' is the music video of upcoming alternative artist ALETULLE's debut single, and the third episode of the artist's visual project 'The Birth of Bardo' series. The song is about miscommunication through technology. ALETULLE imagines what it would be like to crawl through the green tunnel that connects two people together, the green dot on Facebook that says you are online: would you be the same person on the other end? Would the tunnel take away part of your essence and deliver something different on the other side? For the music video, we wanted to portray something organic actively becoming robotic. That is because we believe there is an agency in our participation in these types of communications: we are actively destroying the way we connect with each other. We decided to reverse the video to present a double linearity: it is a bird that becomes robotic, but also a robotic creature striving to become organic. The role of the camera is also important. The audience is aligned with the perspective of a camera that is intrusive. The closer it/we get, the more aggressive the video is and the angrier the dancer seems to be. We wanted to depict the personal relationship we have with technology too, so we framed this narrative around a love story between man and technology that eventually becomes toxic.
