A Special Kind of Love was a script written by Dale Trett that instantly resonated with me because of my own experiences when my mother was dying. The story's main character, Todd, has to choose between staying home to look after his ill mother and going out with his girlfriend on Valentine's Day. At some point when a loved one is dying, you almost have to make a choice about whether you are going to live, or die along with the other person. In the end, you save yourself, which is what the dying person would have wanted.
