Logline - Cheered on by her best friend, a teen confronts her greatest fear - tampons. A Period Piece is a female empowerment film about a young woman who puts in a tampon for the first time. Our short was partially shot on super 8 film to give people a nostalgic feeling as many women have a memory of their first attempt at putting on a tampon. It is loosely based off of the director’s first-hand experience. Our film is written, directed, produced by diverse women of color. It also stars two Latinas from Peruvian, Colombian and Mexican backgrounds. Our stars are also friends in real life, giving the film an authentic feeling of female friendship.
