About Radha Mehta

Radha's passion for storytelling started with her songwriting with original music featured on popular TV shows across networks including USA, MTV, E!, Oxygen, WE, VH1. She has since crossed over to filmmaking with a recent focus on immigration and immigrants' ability to assimilate into western (particularly American) cultures, with a personal love for stories of the South Asian diaspora (particularly those from her family).

Her past award-winning short film "I'm Going to Marry This Boy" was featured in various film festivals and speaks to the age-old tradition of arranged marriages in India and how her mother chose to defy it with love and understanding; "Shiva" speaks to the love and strong devotion of a Jain-turned-Hindu devotee to one of the most powerful Hindu gods; and "The Piano Shaman" speaks to a young man using the power of music to heal himself of lyme disease while living in an environment where any form of mental health or auto-immune issues are taboo to discuss openly.  Radha is currently in production on two documentaries, one that speaks to a large NGO scandal unfolding in Florida of a statewide Domestic Violence coalition, and one that shares the story of asylum refugee sisters who fled Haiti and now serve as powerful ICU nurses in Washington D.C. saving lives during the pandemic.

Radha aims to shed light on empowering stories of the underserved and less privileged in hopes to provide a greater understanding of challenges they've had to overcome, and in turn, inspire positve change in mind, heart, and soul for generations to come.
