Ellen Gerstein is a Los Angeles filmmaker, producer,director, writer and actor. She is a member of the Alliance of Women Directors and LA Film Team. She is a lifetime member and ongoing judge for The Actors Studio Auditions Division and the Roy W. Dean Film Makers Grant. She has been a guest judge at the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase Program: Black Lives Matter, Film Consortium San Diego and SD Film Awards. Lulu Productions is Ellen Gerstein’s production company that has produced the two internationally award winning short films Come Away With Me and Waiting For Ronald as well as theater and web series. Come Away With Me, directed by Ellen is An inter-racial couple, sweethearts in the 60's, were torn apart by war and social pressure. A women summons the courage to go to her high school reunion hoping to rekindle the romance with the love of her life. Ellen plays Anne (Recuring Shameless, Recuring The Whole Truth) and Michael is played by Charlie Robinson (Night Court, Antwon Fisher, Hart of Dixie and recurring on Mom). The show won semi-finalist in the Samuel French short play festival and ran in LA as well as at the Harold Clurman Theater in New York and had a successful run in the New York Fringe Festival. Lulu Productions is collaboration with Matthew Arnold productions is shooting the Mocumentary, Has Anyone Seen Jeannee Sebel based on the character of her one women show. She co-wrote, co-produced and created the character, Angie in Club Disco an interactive play that ran for a year at the Lillian Theater. Ellen has been an actress for many years in film, TV and theater. Ellen has worked with incredible directors like Martin Scorcese, Paul Schraeder, Rob Marshall, Mimi Leder and Mark Rydell. As well as these increadible actors Robert DeNiro, Al Pachino, James Franco, Danny Divito, Lainie Kazan, Kathy Bates, Jason Bateman,Ted Danson, to name a few. Ellen continues to produce the popular and hysterical web series Sylvia’s Just Sayin ’ a character created and performed by Ellen (www.youtube.com/user/SylviasJustSaying). She created the half-hour dramedy series, The Adventures of Ronald and Edgar.
